The People at Watkins & Weston

Ellen Watkins LL.B. (Hons)

I was born and brought up in Herefordshire and attended the Bishop of Hereford's Bluecoat School and then Hereford Sixth Form College. Having decided at this point to pursue a career in law I graduated from the Polytechnic of Wales in Pontypridd in 1989. I completed my Solicitor's Final Exams at the College of Law, Chester and went into articles at two firms, one in Ledbury and the other in Ross-on-Wye.

Once qualified I returned to the Ledbury firm and was employed as a Litigation Solicitor. After ten years and following the birth of my second daughter I decided a change was required and secured a position with what was then A J Weston & Co as a Conveyancer. I was handed three files on my first day and told that "there may not be enough to keep you going". Now I head the department, which has become the Conveyancing, Wills, Trusts and Probate Department and became a partner in January 2005. I enjoy my work greatly but also enjoy my family life, comprising husband and three children!

My hobbies apart from my home life include reading, gardening, travel and sewing.
